And today, as a legacy of the Games, we are holding major competitions here - the Russian curling wheelchair championship. We take athletes from ten regions of Russia on a modern sports facility, which still breathes the energy of student games victories. I am sure that throughout these days you will show strong character, sportsmanship and the desire to win. Congratulations on the opening of the country curling championship
Then Nadezhda Bannikova read a greeting from the President of the Russian Paralympic Committee, Vladimir Lukin:
“On behalf of the Russian Paralympic Committee, I am pleased to welcome all of you in Krasnoyarsk to the Russian curling wheelchair championship!
It is gratifying that the capital of the Krasnoyarsk Territory once again hosts the most important event of the Paralympic sport. This was made possible thanks to the support and attention of the leadership of the region, the Regional Center for Sports Training in Adaptive Sports.

The Russian national team is a 3-time world champion and a silver medalist at the 2014 Paralympic Home Games, and the national championship each year shows strong competition.
