Boris Viktorovich Ivanyuzhenkov

Boris Viktorovich Ivanyuzhenkov is the First Vice President of the Russian Paralympic Committee, Head of the RPC’s Committee on Regional Policy, a member of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, and First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports.

BIOGRAPHY

Born on February 25, 1966, in Reutov, Balashikha District, Moscow Region. Master of Sports, multiple medalist and winner of international and All-Russian Greco-Roman wrestling tournaments.

Professional and Community Activities

From 1984 to 1986, he served in the Armed Forces of the USSR. While serving in the Army, he began his coaching career and became a coach for the Army’s 13th Sports Club.

From 1986 to 1996, he worked as a coach and instructor at the Kalinin Sports Club’s Children’s and Youth Sports School in Podolsk.

In 1996, he was elected Vice President of the Russian Wrestling Federation and a member of the Russian Olympic Committee; in 1997, he was elected First Vice President of the Russian Wrestling Federation.

In 1996, he founded the Vityaz Central Sports Club in Podolsk.

From 1997 to 1999, he served as a member of the Moscow Regional Duma and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Youth Policy, Physical Culture, and Sports.

In 1998, he was awarded the “FILA Gold Badge” by the International Wrestling Federation for his contribution to the development of international sports relations.

From 1999 to 2000, First Deputy Minister and Minister of Physical Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the Russian Federation

In 2000, he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Coach of Russia.

In 2000, on the initiative of Boris Ivanyuzhenkov and with his direct involvement, the multifunctional “Vityaz” Cultural and Sports Complex Ice Palace, with a capacity of 5,000 spectators, was built in Podolsk. In the “Project of the Year 2000” category, the “Vityaz” Ice Palace was recognized as the best sports facility. The project’s initiator, Boris Viktorovich Ivanyuzhenkov, was named “Person of the Year 2000.”

From 2000 to 2002, he served as an advisor to the chairman of the State Committee of the Russian Federation for Physical Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

In 2003, on the initiative of Boris Ivanyuzhenkov, the non-state higher professional educational institution “Podolsk Social and Sports Institute” was established.

Over the years, he has been actively involved in various public organizations: Vice President of the Russian Paralympic Committee (2006–2021), Chairman of the Board of the All-Russian Public Organization “All-Russian Sports Federation for People with Physical Impairments” (2006–2020), member of the Executive Committee of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (2006–2020), and president of the Russian Boxing Federation (2009–2016).

He served as a deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation during the sixth and seventh convocations.

From October 2021 to the present, he has served as a deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation of the eighth convocation and as first deputy chairman of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports.

B.V. Ivanyuzhenkov actively collaborates with Russian sports federations and clubs in discussions regarding new bills being drafted by the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports.

Currently, B.V. Ivanyuzhenkov serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Russian Sports Foundation (RSF) and as First Vice President of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC). He actively participates in interactions with representatives of national Paralympic committees and sports federations from leading Asian countries to protect the interests of Russian sports and strengthen the Russian Federation’s international standing.
