Three Russian athletes to compete at the Para Cycling Road World Cup event

From May 7 to 10, the Para Cycling Road World Cup will take place in Abruzzo, Italy, with more than 550 Paralympic athletes from 50 countries taking part.

The races will be held on a city circuit approximately nine kilometers long.

Three athletes with physical impairments will compete for medals: Paralympic champion Ruslan Kuznetsov (Moscow), as well as Ivan Parfelyuk (Moscow) and Alexander Voevodin (Moscow). They will compete in individual and road races.

Note:
Cycling was first included in the program of the 7th Summer Paralympic Games in 1984 in New York and Stoke Mandeville. Athletes with cerebral palsy, amputations and other physical impairments, as well as visual impairments, take part in the competitions. The races are held on bicycles, tricycles, tandems and handbikes. At the 16th Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, Mikhail Astashov won 2 gold medals, Ruslan Kuznetsov won 1 gold medal.
