Russian sledge-hockey team was voted the Athlete of the month

The Russian sledge-hockey team won the 2012 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey B Pool World Championship and was voted the Athlete of the month, receiving 48 percent of the public vote. The team moved up to the A Pool for 2013, just a little more then a year before hosting Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Game.
