Russian Parataekwondo Team Won 3 Medals at an International Tournament in Pakistan

From August 17 to 21, the international taekwondo competition "WT President's Cup" was held in Lahore, Pakistan.

The Russian Paralympic team competed for medals and, based on the results of the performance, won 3 medals: 2 gold and 1 bronze.

The winners were Bilal Yahyaev (weight category over 80 kg) and Elena Savinskaya (weight category over 65 kg), while Diana Abuzyarova (weight category up to 65 kg) became the bronze medalist.

The Russian Paralympic Committee congratulates the athletes and coaches on their well-deserved awards and wishes them success in future competitions!

Parataekwondo was included in the program of the XVI Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo (Japan). The competition rules, technique, competition area, and athletes' belts are the same as in Olympic taekwondo. The only difference is that head kicks are prohibited. At the XVII Summer Paralympic Games in Paris (France), Russian athletes won 1 silver medal. AliasKhab Ramazanov stood on the podium.
