Russian Paralympic Taekwondo Team Wins 7 Medals at International Tournament in Germany
From June 4 to 7, the 11th President's Cup taekwondo international competition was held in Nuremberg, Germany.
The Russian Paralympic team competed for medals and, based on the results, won a total of 7 medals — 2 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze.
Gold medals were won by Bilal Yahyaev (weight category over 80 kg) and Elena Savinskaya (weight category over 65 kg).
Silver medalists: Aliasakhab Ramazanov (weight category over 80 kg), Askhat Akmatov (weight category up to 57 kg), Sholbana Kara-ool (weight category up to 47 kg).
Bronze medalists: Maria Fisenko (weight category up to 52 kg) and Karina Raganina (weight category up to 57 kg).

Paralympic taekwondo was included in the program of the XVI Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. The competition rules, techniques, competition area, and athletes' belts are the same as in Olympic taekwondo. The only difference is that head kicks are prohibited. At the XVII Summer Paralympic Games in Paris, France, Russian athletes won 1 silver medal. Aliasakhab Ramazanov stood on the podium.
