Note:
Para archery for athletes with physical impairments is one of the oldest disciplines in the Summer Paralympic Games program, having been included since the first Paralympic Games in Rome, Italy, in 1960. The first archery competitions were held in 1948 in Stoke Mandeville, linking this sport to the very origins of the Paralympic movement. At the XVI Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, Russian athletes won 1 gold and 2 bronze medals.
