Russian Para Rowers Evgenia Mikhailova and Alexey Gerasimov to Compete for Medals at the World Championships in Amsterdam

From August 24 to 30, the World Rowing Championships are being held in Amsterdam (Netherlands).

Russian para rowers Evgenia Mikhailova and Alexey Gerasimov will compete at the event. The athletes will contend for medals in the mixed double sculls in the PR3Mix2x class.

The heat featuring the Russian crew will take place on August 26 at 2:05 PM Moscow time. Final A, where the medals will be awarded, will be held on August 28 at 5:58 PM Moscow time.

Rowing for athletes with physical impairments was first included in the program of the XIII Summer Paralympic Games in Beijing in 2008. Both men and women participate. Races are held in four boat classes over a distance of 2,000 meters. Para-rowing boats – men's or women's single sculls – may be equipped with special buoyancy aids that act as stabilizers to ensure balance.
