Russian national team wins 12 medals at World Championship and World Junior Championship in 100-square draughts for athletes with visual impairments

From May 19 to 31, the 7th World Championship and 7th World Junior Championship in 100-square draughts among athletes with various disabilities took place in Alanya, Turkey.

Athletes from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Poland, and Turkey took part in the competition.

The Russian national team for athletes with visual impairments was represented by 11 athletes, who won 12 medals — 7 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze.

Gold medals were won by: Yeldyz Gataullina from the Republic of Tatarstan in the Women's rapid program, as well as in the Women's B2, B3 classical program; Emil Galiev from Samara Oblast in the Men's rapid program and in the Men's B2, B3 classical program; Irina Lavrova from Volgograd Oblast in the Women's B1 classical program; Mikhail Krylov from the Republic of Tatarstan in the Men's B1 classical program; Ulyana Tafintseva from the Republic of Bashkortostan in the Junior Women (under 23) B2, B3 classical program.

Silver medals were won by: Tahirzyan Shakirov from Kemerovo Oblast in the Men's B1 classical program; Viktoria Arkhipova from Samara Oblast in the Women's B2, B3 classical program.

Bronze medals were won by: Alexander Beke from the Republic of Crimea in the Men's B1 classical program; Viktoria Arkhipova from Samara Oblast in the Women's B2, B3 rapid program; and Ulyana Tafintseva from the Republic of Bashkortostan in the Junior Women (under 23) rapid program.
