Russian athletes won 1 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals at the World Para-Cycling Championships in Italy
In the city of Maniago (Italy), the World Para Road Cycling Championships was finished.
Upon its results, Russian cyclists won 1 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals.
FINAL DAY OF COMPETITIONS
On the fourth day of the competitions, group races took place. Russian cyclists won 1 silver and 1 bronze medals
Sergei Pudov continued his medal series by second silver medal, won in the C4 class at a distance of 81.6 km. Six circles of the race Sergey completed with the final time of 1:52:00, the results were summed up on the photo finish, 14 athletes finished in the group. The first place was taken by the racer from Italy Michelle Pittacolo, the third - the Belgian Lewis Klinkle.
In class C3, Russian Sergey Ustinov won a bronze medal. Finishing with the time 1:45:15, our cyclist lost to the champion - the Belgian Chris Bosmans (the final time - 1:45:13) and the silver medalist - Italian Fabio ANOBILE / (1:45:15)
RESULTS OF THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
In the overall standings, the Russian National Team has reached the 11th place.
The world champion was Arslan Gilmutdinov, per two silver medals were won by Svetlana Moshkovich, Julia Sibagatova, Sergei Pudov, two bronze medals were won by Olga Tsibulskaya, one bronze medal was won by Sergei Ustinov.

Cycling was first included in the program of the VII Paralympic Summer Games in 1984 in New York and Stoke-Mandeville. Competitors are athletes with cerebral palsy, amputations and other physical impairments, as well as with visual impairments. Racing takes place on bicycles, tricycles, tandems and handbikes. At the XVI Paralympic Summer Games in 2020 in Tokyo (Japan), 50 medal events will be placed, athletes with physical impairments will compete in 42 medal events, and athletes with visual impairments in 8.
