From September 7 to 12, in Moscow, the Russian Paralympic Committee, with the support of the Ministry of Sports of Russia and the Russian Sports Fund, held international match meetings in sitting volleyball among combat veterans.

Six teams took part in the competition: Afghanistan, Indonesia, Myanmar, Rwanda, Serbia, and Russia.

In the final match, the Serbian national team won, defeating Myanmar 2:0 (25:17; 25:20).

In the bronze medal match, the Russian national team, in a hard-fought battle, defeated the Rwandan national team 2:1 (25:22; 18:25; 15:13).

Fifth place went to the Indonesian team, and sixth place to Afghanistan.

The individual nominations were awarded to:
• Best setter — THU YA AUNG (Myanmar)
• Best attacker — DRAGIŠA ZORIĆ (Serbia)
• Best blocker — NDAHIRO JEAN CLAUDE (Rwanda)
• Best defender — RAHIM TIMOORI (Afghanistan)
• Best server — PURWADI (Indonesia)
• Most valuable player — Anatoly Krupin (Russia)

The ceremonial award presentation was attended by President of the Russian Paralympic Committee Pavel Rozhkov; Referent of the Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation for Public Projects, Hero of Russia Alexey Romanov; Secretary General of the Sitting Volleyball Federation of the Republika Srpska Zoran Ješić (ZORAN JEŠIĆ); Deputy Head of the Department of the Physical Training and Sports Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel Anatoly Smirnov; senior coach of the sports team for military-applied and non-Olympic sports, head coach of the Armed Forces national teams in volleyball, Master of Sports, Honored Coach of Russia Sergey Tsyetnov; Head of the Division (for Adaptive Sports) of the Federal Autonomous Institution of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation "Central Sports Club of the Army" Vladimir Filimonov; Acting Deputy Chief Physician for Biomedical Support of Sports of the FMBA of Russia Artyom Krintsilov; veteran of the special military operation, head of the sitting volleyball department of the public organization "All-Russian Volleyball Federation" Alexander Kokorev.

Bronze medalists of the competition: captain of the Russian team — Honored Master of Sports of Russia, silver medalist of the Paralympic Games, holder of the Order of Courage, participant in combat operations in the North Caucasus Anatoly Krupin. The national team roster includes veterans of the special military operation — winners and prize-winners of competitions among SVO veterans, including the Defenders of the Fatherland Cups, the "FONBET Cup" in sitting volleyball, and the "Heroes of Our Time" competitions: representatives of the Republic of Buryatia — member of the Russian national team Bator Dagbaev, as well as Alexander Kozunov, Etigel Balzhanov, and Sergey Sultanov; representatives of Belgorod Oblast — members of the Russian national team Alexander Bogdanets and Anatoly Vrublevsky, as well as Evgeny Mishustin and Ilya Timin.

Since 2022, the Russian Paralympic Committee has consistently been working to involve veterans of the special military operation in the Paralympic movement and to facilitate their rapid athletic growth in various disciplines of adaptive sports. As part of this work, the RPC held sitting volleyball competitions — "Heroes of Our Time" and the "FONBET Cup" — as well as other starts and joint training events for SVO veterans with athletes and specialists of the Russian national sports team.

To date, about 200 SVO veterans, as part of regional sitting volleyball teams, participate in the national championship in the first and second divisions, and 18 are part of the national team.
