On May 16, the World Triathlon Para Series event — '2026 World Triathlon Para Series Yokohama' — will take place in Yokohama, Japan.

The competition will be held over a distance consisting of a 750m swim, a 20 km bike race, and a 5 km run.

Six para-athletes will represent the Russian national team:

  • Vasily Egorov (PTS2 class);

  • Viktor Chebotarev (PTS3 class);

  • Andrey Tolstikov (PTS4 class);

  • Aleksandr Konyshev (PTS5 class);

  • Anna Plotnikova (PTS3 class);

  • Andrey Bukov (guide runner: Igor Polyansky, PTVI class)

Results can be followed on the competition website: https://events.triathlon.org/2026-world-triathlon-para-series-yokohama/results

Paratriathlon was first included in the program of the 2016 Summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Paratriathlon consists of three disciplines: a 750m swim, followed by a 20 km cycling stage, and a 5 km run. Athletes with physical impairments are divided into five classes depending on the severity of their impairment — wheelchair (PTWC class) and standing (PTS2, PTS3, PTS4, PTS5 classes), while athletes with visual impairments compete in the PTVI class. In the cycling stage, athletes may use a handbike (wheelchair category) or a bicycle (standing category). Additionally, during the running stage of the paratriathlon, wheelchair athletes compete in racing wheelchairs, while standing athletes may use prosthetics if needed. Athletes with visual impairments compete alongside a guide runner."
