7 Russian Paralympians to Compete at European Cycling Championships in Italy
From June 12 to 14, the European Para-Cycling Championships will take place in Maniago and Montereale Valcellina (Italy).
Russian athletes with physical impairments will participate in the competition: Ruslan Kuznetsov (Moscow), Alexandr Davidovich (Republic of Bashkortostan), as well as Ivan Ermakov (Moscow Region, Omsk Region), Alexandr Voevodin (Moscow), and Sergey Semochkin (Moscow Region).
In the blind sports discipline (tandem), Marina Danilova (Moscow) and Kirill Kiiski (Saint Petersburg) will compete, along with their pilot athletes Daria Gordeeva (Moscow) and Sergey Firsanov (Saint Petersburg).
The championship program includes individual time trials and road races.
The individual time trial will be held on a 9.3 km circuit in Montereale Valcellina, while the road races will take place on a 6.6 km circuit in Maniago.

Cycling was first included in the program of the VII Paralympic Summer Games in 1984 in New York and Stoke Mandeville. Athletes with physical impairments and visual impairments take part in the competitions. Races are conducted on bicycles, tricycles, tandems, and handbikes. At the XVI Paralympic Summer Games in Tokyo, Mikhail Astashov won two gold medals, and Ruslan Kuznetsov won one gold medal.
