14 Russian Paralympians to Compete for Medals at European Para Archery Championships in Italy
Russian Paralympians will take part in the European Para Archery Championships for athletes with physical impairments in Rome, Italy. The competitions will be held from April 25 to May 3.
Fourteen Russian archers will compete for medals: Delshodzhon Khudaiberiev (Krasnodar Territory), Sergei Khutakov (Republic of Buryatia), Kirill Smirnov (Zabaykalsky Territory), Bariyat Mirzaalieva (Republic of Dagestan), Margarita Sidorenko (Krasnodar Territory), Alexander Gombozhapov (Republic of Buryatia), Bair Shigaev (Republic of Buryatia), Tatiana Andrievskaya (Republic of Buryatia), Anastasia Dzhioeva (Moscow Region), Alexey Leonov (Astrakhan Region), Denis Ten (Khabarovsk Territory), Anna Ilyina (Moscow), Ekaterina Kondratieva (Moscow Region), and Elena Krutova (Moscow Region).

Para archery for athletes with musculoskeletal impairments is one of the oldest disciplines in the Summer Paralympic Games program, having been included in the program of the 1st Summer Paralympic Games in 1960 in Rome, Italy. The first archery competitions took place in 1948 in Stoke Mandeville, associating this sport with the birth of the Paralympic movement as a whole. At the 16th Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, Russian athletes won 1 gold and 2 bronze medals.
