On April 8-13 the All-Russian Federation of Sports for II Sports held the championship of Russia in swimming in the city of Yoshkar-Ola (Mari El Republic).
In the 50 meter pool of "Yoshkar-Ola" Aquatics Palace, 170 swimmers from 26 regions of Russia competed. Athletes competed for medals in 27 kinds of events.
The strongest II swimmers, such as 3-times Paralympic champion in Tokyo Valeria Shabalina and silver medalist of Paralympics-2012 Artem Pavlenko took part in the competition.
The All-Russian Down syndrome athletes competition was held simultaneously with the championship.
