Moscow «Phoenix» wins Russian Para Ice Hockey Championships.

In the city of Aleksin (Tula Region), from February 28 to March 8, the All-Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairments held the 2nd round of the Russian Para Ice hockey championship at the Republican educational base of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation “Oka”.

Before the final game day of the championship leaders, the Yugra team (Khanty-Mansijsk Autonomous Region) and the Phoenix team (Moscow Region) shared one point.

In order to become the champion of Ugra it was enough not to lose in regular time (after three periods), Phoenix was satisfied only with a victory in regular time.

As a result of the match, the Phoenix team won a difficult victory, Stanislav Barykin scored the winning goal, when 1 minute and 15 seconds were left before the end of the third period.

The bronze medalist of the national championship was the sledge-hockey club “Udmurtia named after V.N. Kuznetsov. "

One step away from the podium, the Zvezda team from the Tula Region stopped.

Next come the team of the city of Moscow, “Hawks” from the Orenburg region, the Bashkir pirates (Republic of Bashkortostan) and the team of the Chelyabinsk region.

Top scorer - Nikolay Terentyev (Ugra)

Best Forward - Ayrat Khamzin (Phoenix)

Best Defender - Dmitry Galkin (Udmurtia)

Best Goalkeeper - Andrey Kasatkin (Phoenix)

Best Trainer - Alexander Chuzhanov (Udmurtia)

The awarding and closing ceremony was attended by the Russian Paralympic Committee  Secretary General, President of the All-Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairments , 5-time Paralympic Games champion Andrei Strokin, member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, President of Ugra SC Eduard Isakov, chief judge competition Alexander Zaitsev.

According to the results of the national championship, in the near future, the coaching staff of the Russian national sledge hockey team will determine the composition of the national team for the European Championship, which will be held from April 16 to 26 in Sweden.
