Exceeding the world record and 36 Russian records were recorded at the national championships in track and field athletics for persons with disabilities and blind sports

In Cheboksary (Chuvash Republic) the All-Russian Federation of Sports for the Blind and the All-Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairments held the Russian Para Athletics Championship.

Starts of competitions were held at the stadium “Olympiysky” in the period from July 16 to July 20.

They were attended by about 500 athletes from more than 50 subjects of the Russian Federation, including the leaders of the national team. 127 athletes from 33 regions fought for the medals of the Russian Championship in the sport of the blind, in the sport of persons with physical disabilities - 386 athletes representing 54 regions.

Athletes competed in various sports classes in a number of disciplines, including: long jump and high jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, club and javelin throwing, as well as 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 and 5000 m running.

During the competition, 34 Russian and 1 world records were exceeded.
