THE RUSSIAN TEAM WON 3 GOLD, 2 SILVER AND 1 BRONZE MEDALS AFTER THE MORNING SESSION OF THE FIRST DAY OF THE IPC EUROPEAN PARA ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP

In Bydgoszcz (Poland), from June 1 to 5, the European Para Athletics Championship of the International Paralympic Committee will start.

More than 650 athletes from 44 countries take part in the competition.

According to the results of the morning session of the first day of the competition, the Russian national team won 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals and ranks second in the intermediate medal standings.

The Polish national team is leading the medal standings with 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.

According to the results of the morning session, Alexander Khrupin (Bryansk region / St. Petersburg) became the European champion in shot put in the F33 class. Alexander Kostin (Altai Territory / St. Petersburg) won the 5000m race among athletes of the T13 class, and Anastasia Solovieva (Ulyanovsk region) won the 400m race in the T47 class.

Dmitry Dushkin (Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous Region -Yugra) and Elena Tretyakova (Sverdlovsk Region) won silver medals in shot put in the F40 class and 400 meters in the T37 class, respectively.

In the 400-meter race in the T37 class, Victoria Slanova (RNO-Alania) rose to the third step of the podium.
