From July 20 to 31, 2026, the Russian Paralympic Committee, with the support of the Russian Sports Fund, conducted training under the additional professional development program "Fundamentals of Paralympic Sport."

The course attendees included 21 coaches and specialists in adaptive sports from 7 constituent entities of the Russian Federation: Vologda, Kaliningrad, Leningrad, Saratov, and Moscow Oblasts, as well as Saint Petersburg and Moscow.

During the training program, aimed at improving existing competencies and acquiring new ones necessary for professional activities in the field of adaptive physical culture and adaptive sports, the following topics were covered: the regulatory, legal, and organizational foundations of the Paralympic athlete training system; general requirements for conducting competitions in Paralympic sports; sports-functional classification of athletes; and others.

The program lecturers included experts and heads of the Russian Paralympic Committee and All-Russian Sports Federations that develop Paralympic sports — President of the Russian Paralympic Committee, Doctor of Economics, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Pavel Rozhkov; Vice-President of the RPC, Deputy Head of the RPC Apparatus, Paralympic Champion Ivan Potekhin; Head of the Scientific, Methodological, Medical and Anti-Doping Support Department of the RPC Apparatus, Chief Classifier of the All-Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with physical Impairments, Candidate of Medical Sciences Guzel Idrisova; and others.

The theoretical sessions were held online via video conferencing. The practical sessions took place from July 27 to 31 in Vyborg (Leningrad Oblast) as part of the Interregional Comprehensive Physical Education Event for veterans of the Special Military Operation "Defenders of the Fatherland Cup" (Northwestern Federal District).

Upon completion of the training, attendees who successfully completed the program and passed the final assessment received standard-issue Certificates of Professional Development.

The Russian Paralympic Committee has scheduled further training under professional development programs in the field of adaptive physical culture and adaptive sports; training will be conducted as groups are formed: https://edu.paralymp.ru/applicants/directions_specialty_exams/

The educational activities of the RPC are conducted on the basis of educational activity license No. 037666 dated July 8, 2016, issued to the Russian Paralympic Committee by the Department of Education of the City of Moscow.
