THE RUSSIAN PARALYMPIC COMMITTEE TOGETHER WITH THE ROSHAL FOUNDATION HELD A LESSON FOR CHILDREN
MOSCOW, June 3. /TASS/. The Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) with the participation of athletes held a Paralympic lesson for patients of the Leonid Roshal Research Institute of Emergency Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology on June 2, timed to the Children's Day. RPC President Pavel Rozhkov told TASS on Friday.
"This is not the first time we have visited Dr. Roshal's research institute," Rozhkov said. - It has become a good tradition. And on Thursday we held a Paralympic lesson and a master class in Paralympic sports. Our famous Paralympic athletes, champions and prize-winners of the Paralympic games became the mentors of the children".
Master-classes, in which about 100 children took part, were held in six kinds of sport. Before the start of the master classes, Olga Semenova, three-time champion of the Paralympic Games and Vice-President of the Russian Paralympic Committee, and Ivan Potekhin, champion of the 2012 Paralympic Games and Vice-President of the Russian Paralympic Committee, conducted exercises with children. Also honored masters of sports in sledge hockey Dmitry Lisov and Ilya Volkov and senior coach of the hockey team Ruslan Batyrshin, senior coach of the Russian Para Cycling Team Ekaterina Mukhortova, archery athlete Sergey Rodin and silver medalist of the Paralympic Games Leonid Krylov took part in the lesson.
At the end of the master-classes each child received a present from the RPC.
During the Paralympic lesson, Rozhkov met with Roshal, President of the Research Institute of Emergency Pediatric Surgery and Traumatology and discussed further cooperation.
