Stanislav Alatortsev, head of the Russian National Para Shooting team, commented on the performance of the Russian national team:
“The competition began with an official training session on March 19, according to the results of which the athletes were admitted to the main program, and the equipment was checked.
As part of the main program, on March 20 and 21, athletes shot 125 targets plus the final.
After the first day, Alexey Pasternak was in the lead. According to the results of the main series of the second day, Roman and Alexey qualified for the finals in their group in the first and second places, respectively.
The final of the competition turned out to be no less exciting and was held with a clear advantage of Roman Ponomarenko, who took 1st place. Alexey Pasternak won bronze.
Despite the heat of almost forty degrees and experienced rivals, as well as the difficulties associated with measures to combat COVID-19, both of our athletes were able to climb the podium."
