The Russian National Team won 9 gold, 6 silver and 9 bronze medals in Para Cross-Country Skiing and Biathlon at World Cup in Slovenia

In the city of Planica (Slovenia) from February 28 to March 10, a stage of the World Cup in Cross-country skiing and biathlon among athletes with physical and visual impairments is being held.

Following the results of three competitive days, the Russian national team won 9 gold, 6 silver and 9 bronze medals and is still leading the intermediate medal standings.

The Ukrainian team moved up to the second place in the medal standings with 3 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze medals.

On the third day of the competition, the mid-distance biathlon races took place, which brought the Russian team 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.

Among men with visual impairments, Tyumen skiers Stanislav Chokhlaev with a guide Oleg Kolodiychuk and Nikolai Polukhin with Eduard Berezin won gold and silver awards, respectively.

Among women with visual impairments, "gold" and "silver" also went to representatives of the Tyumen region. Vera Khlyzova with the leading sportsman Natalia Yakimova climbed to the top step of the podium, and Yulia Smirnova and Roman Tarasov won silver medals.

In the men's standing category, Vladislav Lekomtsev from the Udmurt Republic took the lead again, winning his third gold at the World Cup. Ivan Kodlozerov from the Arkhangelsk region won the bronze medal.

In the sitting category, Ivan Golubkov (Moscow / Komi Republic) became the winner of the competition among men, and Marta Zainullina (Republic of Tatarstan) won the bronze award among women.

On March 7, the middle distance cross-country skiing races will take place. On March 9 and 10, the winners of the individual races and the sprint in biathlon will be determined.
