THE RUSSIAN NATIONAL TEAM WON 2 GOLD, 2 SILVER AND 4 BRONZE MEDALS ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WORLD CUP IN PARALYMPIC CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING AND BIATHLON IN SLOVENIA
In Planica (Slovenia), from February 28 to March 10, the World Cup in cross-country skiing and biathlon is held among athletes with musculoskeletal disorders and visual impairment.
Today, on the first day of the competition, short-distance cross-country skiing was held.
The Russian national team at the end of the competition day won 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals and led the intermediate medal standings.
In the second place of the medal standings with 2 gold medals - the Austrian national team. In total, representatives of 7 countries rose to the podium.
Among men with visual impairment, the gold medal was won by the Tyumen skier Nikolay Polukhin with the leader Eduard Berezin, the bronze award was also won by the Tyumen tandem Stanislav Chokhlaev with the guide Oleg Kolodiychuk.
Vladislav Lekomtsev from the Udmurt Republic won the men's standing category, and Rushan Minnegulov from the Republic of Tatarstan won the bronze medal.
In the sitting category, Ivan Golubkov (Moscow/Komi Republic) and Alexander Davidovich (Republic of Bashkortostan) took second and third places, respectively.
Among women with visual impairment, the Russians won silver and bronze medals. The second time at the distance was shown by Anna Panferova with the leader Andrey Zhukov (Tula region). In third place, the representatives of the Tyumen region Vera Khlyzova with Natalia Yakimova.
Tomorrow there will be races in cross-country skiing in the sprint category. On March 6, a set of medals will be awarded in the middle-distance biathlon, and on March 7-in the middle-distance cross-country skiing. On March 9 and 10, the winners of the individual races and the sprint in biathlon will be determined.
