THE RUSSIAN NATIONAL TEAM WON 10 GOLD, 4 SILVER AND 6 BRONZE MEDALS AT THE IPC ATHLETICS GRAND PRIX IN DUBAI
The Grand Prix in Athletics of the International Paralympic Committee has ended in Dubai (UAE).
471 athletes from 52 countries took part in the competition.
The Russian national team consisted of 8 athletes with a lesion of the musculoskeletal system, 6-with visual impairment and 7-with intellectual disabilities.
As a result of the competition, the Russian national team won ten gold, four silver and six bronze medals, taking fourth place in the unofficial medal standings.
Athletes with musculoskeletal injuries won five gold and four bronze medals. Athletes with intellectual disabilities have won four gold, two silver and one bronze medals. Athletes with visual impairment brought one gold, two silver and one bronze medal to the national team's piggy bank.
The 3-time winner of the competition was Andrey Vdovin (Nizhny Novgorod region, sports of persons with PODA).
One gold and one bronze medal each was won by UGRA track and field athletes from PODA Alexey Ashapatov and Zamir Shkakhov. The winners of the competition were Nadezhda Burkova (Perm Region, sports of the blind), Galina Randelina (Saratov region, sports of persons with IN), Alexandra Ruchkina (Kaliningrad region, sports of persons with IN), Alexander Rabotnitsky (Omsk region, sports of persons with IN) and Alexander Alexandrov (KhMAO-Yugra, sports of persons with IN).
Silver medals were awarded to Pavel Nesterenko (Krasnodar Region, blind sports), Igor Baskakov (Stavropol Region, blind sports), Pavel Sarkeev (Moscow Region, sports of persons with IN) and Artem Muratov (Krasnoyarsk Region, sports of persons with IN).
The bronze medalists of the competition were Alexey Dunin (Perm Region, blind sports), Irina Potekhina (Nizhny Novgorod region, sports of persons with IN), Alan Kokoity (RSO-Alania, sports of persons with POD) and Alexander Brilin (Bryansk region/St. Petersburg, sports of persons with POD).
