THE RUSSIAN NATIONAL TEAM IN PARATHAEKWONDO IS PREPARING FOR THE PARALYMPIC SUMMER GAMES "TOKYO-2020" AT THE TRAINING CAMP IN THE MOSCOW SPORTS COMPLEX "PARAMONOVO»
The Russian national team in parathaekwondo is preparing for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Summer Games at the training camp at the Paramonovo Federal Sports and Training Center.
Parathaekwondo will make its debut in the program at the upcoming XVI Paralympic Summer Games "Tokyo 2020". In total, 6 sets of medals will be awarded – 3 for men and women. The K44 class athletes will compete for the awards in the weight categories up to 61 kg, up to 75 kg and over 75 kg among men and up to 49 kg, up to 58 kg and over 58 kg among women.
36 men and 36 women will take part in the Paralympic Games. The maximum number of participants per country is 6. Currently, Russian parathaekwondists have won 4 quotas for participation in the Games.
On May 9, the European Qualification Tournament is scheduled in Bulgaria, where quotas for participation in the PI-2020 will be drawn. It will be attended by members of the Russian national team.
Competition rules, equipment, competition area, athletes ' belts-just like in Olympic taekwondo. The only difference is that blows to the head are prohibited.
