THE RPC TEAM WON 1 GOLD, 2 SILVER, AND 1 BRONZE MEDAL ON THE FINAL DAY OF THE IPC WINTER SPORTS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

From 12th to 23rd of January in Lillehammer (Norway) the RPC team participated in the IPC Winter Sports World Championships (Para Snow Sports World Championships).

On January 23 the competitions in nordic skiing in mixed and open relay, and also in alpine skiing in parallel slalom were held.

At the end of competitions the athletes of the RPC team won 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal.


Nordic skiing:

I place - open relay: Vitaly Malyshev (Moscow Region), Oleg Ponomarev (Moscow Region/Permskiy Krai, athlete-leader Andrey Romanov), Ivan Golubkov (Moscow/Republic of Komi) and Vladislav Lekomtsev (Udmurt Republic).

II place - mixed relay: Natalia Kocherova (Moscow), Vera Khlyzova (Tyumen region, athlete-moderator Natalia Yakimova), Alexey Bychenok (Moscow) and Stanislav Chokhlaev (Tyumen region, athlete-moderator Oleg Kolodiychuk).


 Alpine skiing:

II place - Varvara Voronchikhina (Moscow / Irkutsk region).

III place - Alexey Bugaev (Moscow/Sakhalin Region).

According to the results of the Championship 22 gold, 23 silver and 22 bronze medals are in the collection of the RPC team.

The RPC team occupied the highest step of the podium in the team medal standings. The U.S. team (10 gold, 8 silver and 9 bronze medals) occupies the second place. Team of France (10 gold, 6 silver, 4 bronze) takes the third place.
