THE BADMINTON WORLD FEDERATION HAS SENT AN INFORMATION LETTER ABOUT THE LATEST UPDATES IN PARABADMINTON IN 2021
The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has sent an information letter about the latest updates in parabadminton in 2021.
TOURNAMENT CALENDAR FOR 2021
The BWF is working with various tournament organizers and other stakeholders to create a competitive parabadminton calendar for 2021. The main priority is to hold the last qualification tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and increase the number of participants in the tournaments.
The BWF continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation around the world, and the upcoming tournaments are regulated by local authorities.
March 29 - April 4-Dubai International Tournament (UAE)
May 10-16 - International Tournament of Cartagena (Spain)
June 21-27-Dublin International Tournament (Ireland)
September 1-5-Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo (Japan)
Dates to be specified - International Tournament in Lima (Peru)
October 25-31 - BWF Parabadminton World Championship in Tokyo (Japan)
November 15-21-International Tournament Kampala (Uganda) December
5-9-Asian Youth Para Games Manama (Bahrain)

QUALIFICATION FOR THE PARALYMPIC GAMES
The international parabadminton tournament in Spain 2021, which will be held in May, will be the last qualification tournament for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. The BWF will publish the updated provisional qualification criteria after consultation with the International Paralympic Committee.

CONTINENTAL PARABADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIPS
There will be no continental parabadminton championships in 2021. The BWF will extend the world ranking points earned in the previous competition to the next championships, which will be held in 2022.
PARABADMINTON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2021
The participants of the BWF World Championship will be determined according to the world ranking, which will be published after the International Tournament in Dublin "Irish Para Badminton International 2021". More information will be available later.
Please keep in mind that the World Cup classification will not be held. Players must have a confirmed classification status or a fixed revision date (FRD) later than November 1, 2021.
PARABADMINTON WORLD RANKINGS
Tournaments from 2019 will continue to be ranked in the world rankings until the next similar tournament is held in 2021. The first update of the rating will take place after the completion of the International Tournament in Dubai "Dubai-Fazza Para Badminton International 2021".
The draw for international tournaments and the World Cup will be based on the latest world ranking prior to the draw for the tournament.
COVID-19
Participants, including players and team officials, are expected to follow all of the COVID-19 health and safety protocols in place for each of the above tournaments. A special table of offenses and penalties related to violations of the COVID-19 Security Protocols applies to any person found to have violated the COVID-19 protocol while participating in a tournament.
