Tass: Vladimir Lukin resigned from the position of RPC President
MOSCOW, March 30. / TASS / President of the Russian Paralympic Committee (the RPC) Vladimir Lukin as well as RPC Vice-Presidents Boris Ivanyuzhenkov, Rima Batalova and Oleg Smolin resigned from the organization. TASS was informed about this by the press service of the organization.
Vladimir Lukin has been the RPC President since 1997. Pavel Rozhkov is appointed as the interim RPC President by the members of the Governing Board.
RPC Statement:
«Today at the meeting of the RPC Governing Board, notice of resignation from the position of RPC President provided by the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council’s International Affairs Committee Vladimir Lukin and notices of resignation from the positions of RPC Vice-presidents submitted by State Duma deputies Boris Ivanyuzhenkov, Rima Batalova and Oleg Smolin were considered and satisfied».
These decisions were made in accordance with the requirements of the Court of Arbitration for Sport dated December 17, 2020 in the case of the World Anti-Doping Agency v. Russian Anti-Doping Agency and the Revised Post-reinstatement criteria published by the International Paralympic Committee on February 8, 2021.
State Duma deputy Elena Bondarenko and Head of the physical culture and sports department of the Bryansk region Sergey Trusov also wrote their notices of resignation as chairperson of the RPC regional offices.
