TASS: RUSSIAN PARALYMPIANS AT THE BEGINNING OF MARCH HAVE 136 LICENSES FOR GAMES IN TOKYO

MOSCOW, March 7. / TASS /. At the beginning of March, Russian Paralympians have already won 136 licenses in 13 sports to participate in the Tokyo Games. Pavel Rozhkov, first vice-president of the Russian Paralympic Committee, head of the Russian delegation at the Tokyo Games, told TASS.

"To date, Russian athletes have won 136 licenses to participate in the Games, which corresponds to 174 athletes in 13 sports, - said Rozhkov. - It is planned that Russian athletes will take part in 19 of 22 sports."

Rozhkov explained that the composition of the Russian Paralympic delegation at the Tokyo Games can be up to 470 people, of which up to 270 are athletes.

According to the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Russian athletes are deprived of the opportunity to compete under the flag and anthem of their country at the World Championships, Olympic and Paralympic Games until December 16, 2022. Paralympics in Tokyo will be held from August 24 to September 5.
