The International Chess Federation (FIDE) highly appreciated the professionalism and experience of Svetlana Gerasimova, head coach of the Russian national draughts and chess sports team for persons with physical impairments. Pavel Rozhkov, President of Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) said such opinion to TASS on Sunday.
The FIDE awards ceremony was held in India at the organization's congress. Gerasimova received the award "For Outstanding Fighting Spirit".
"Gerasimova's professionalism and experience are highly appreciated in the International Chess Federation, and her award "For Outstanding Fighting Spirit" is a vivid confirmation of that," Rozhkov said. - From 2018 to 2022 Svetlana Viktorovna was the head of the International Physically Disables Chess Association (IPCA) and is currently its vice-president.
