MOSCOW, January 13. /TASS/. The Beijing Games Organizing Committee has granted a medical exemption from a 21-day quarantine to six underage Russian athletes of the Paralympic team. Pavel Rozhkov, Acting President of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) and head of the Russian delegation at the Winter Games, told TASS.
Earlier, Rozhkov said in an interview with TASS that the RPC appealed to the Organizing Committee of the Beijing Games with a request for a medical exemption for six underage Russian athletes to participate in the Games without vaccination and quarantine.
"After the Russian Paralympic Committee applied to the organizing committee of the Beijing Games, a group of medical experts granted a medical exemption from the mandatory 21-day quarantine for six underage Russian athletes who are part of the expanded national team. The decision was made due to the fact that in Russia, the vaccine for minors is still undergoing the registration procedure in the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation", - said Rozhkov.
The Paralympics will take place in Beijing from March 4 to 13.
