TASS: Head of Asian Paralympic Committee thanks Putin for support of sport
MOSCOW, May 22. /TASS/. The head of the Asian Paralympic Committee, Majid Rashed, thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for his support of the Paralympic movement. Rashed made these remarks during the award ceremony for the Russian Paralympic Committee's "Return to Life" prize.
"This ceremony is not just a 30th anniversary; it is a chapter in the history, a history of defining the fortune, strength, and victory of those whom I have had the honor to meet and work with," said Rashed. "Regarding the Russian Paralympic Committee, it is very strong. The results of the Russian national team confirm this. But the most important thing is the passion for sport and the support that Paralympians feel. I am especially pleased to be in Russia and in Moscow."
"It is a great honor for me to be here. First and foremost, I want to thank the President of Russia, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, for his support, the Russian government, the ministry and the Minister of Sports, our partners, and the large family of media that cover these sports. As well as the large family of our Paralympic community. I want to express special gratitude to Pavel Rozhkov, to you, Mr. President of the Russian Paralympic Committee, for all your work and responsibility. And also, I would probably like to say thank you to the president who, for almost 25 years, built all of this here to make it work like a well-oiled machine – these words of gratitude are for you, Mr. Vladimir Lukin," added Rashed.
