"Russia-2" became the winner of the International Goalball Tournament among VI Athletes in Lithuania
In the Lithuanian city of Trakai from 20 to 23 May, an International Goalball Tournament for the sport for blind was held.
5 men's and 5 women's teams entered the start of the competition.
Russia was represented by two women's teams.
The Russia-1 team included Evgenia Semina (Kaluga Region), Anastasia Mazur (Kaluga Region), Elizaveta Kemesheva (Vologda Region) and Arina Gerasimova (Vologda Region).
The Russia-2 team includes Anastasia Chudina (Kaluga region), Victoria Leontyeva (Tula region), Irina Arestova (Krasnodar region) and Yulia Khrapkova (Kaluga region).
As a result of the competition, the victory was won by the "Russia-2" team.
In the final of the competition, the Russians beat the US national team with a score of 11-6. Irina Arestova brought all 11 points to our team.
In the match for the bronze medal, Russia-1 beat the Israeli national team with a score of 4: 3.
The fifth place took the Spanish national team.
The best defender of the tournament was Anastasia Mazur, and the top scorer was Irina Arestova.
In the men's tournament the USA-1 team became the winner, the Lithuanian team won silver medals, Poland won the bronze.
4th and 5th places were taken by the teams "USA-2" and the national team of Belgium, respectively.
