RPC President P.A. Rozhkov presents state awards of the Russian Federation to coaches and athletes of Russian national teams

On September 1, at the training base of the Russian national teams of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation "Lake Krugloye" in the Moscow Region, Pavel Rozhkov, President of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC), presented state awards of the Russian Federation to coaches and specialists of the Russian national teams.

The Order of Honour was awarded to Olga Baydalova, coach of adaptive sports at the St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution of Additional Education "Ekran" Sports School of Olympic Reserve for Water Sports; Yelena Sokolova, swimming coach at the Municipal Budgetary Institution "Zarya" Sports Complex; and Maria Pavlova, athlete-instructor in swimming for the Russian national Paralympic team at the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Center for Sports Training of Russian National Teams."

The Medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland," 1st class, was presented to Vladimir Sotnikov, athlete-instructor in swimming for the Russian national blind sports team at the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Center for Sports Training of Russian National Teams."

The awards were presented in accordance with Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 898 of October 21, 2024, for great contribution to the development of Russian sport, outstanding athletic achievements, will to win, fortitude and determination demonstrated at the 17th Summer Paralympic Games 2024 in Paris (France), and Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 112 of March 3, 2025, for ensuring the successful preparation of athletes who achieved high results.

The award ceremony was attended by Andrey Strokin, Secretary General of the Russian Paralympic Committee, President of the All-Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairments, and 5-time Paralympic champion; Olga Semenova, Vice-President of the RPC, President of the All-Russian Federation of Blind Sports, and 3-time Paralympic champion; Nikolay Marchenko, acting director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Training Center of Russian National Teams 'Lake Krugloye'"; as well as athletes and coaches of the Russian national swimming teams in the sports for persons with physical impairments, blind sports, and sports for persons with intellectual impairments.
