RPC Holds All-Russian Seminar on "Introduction to Sport-Functional Classification in Boccia for Athletes with Physical Impairments"
From April 16 to 19, 2026, on the premises of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "RUTB "OKA" in Aleksin, as part of the Russian Championship for athletes with physical impairments (PI) (discipline – boccia), an All-Russian seminar was held on the topic "Introduction to Sport-Functional Classification in Boccia for Athletes with Physical Impairments" (hereinafter – the Seminar).
The Seminar was attended by 29 participants (athletes, coaches, specialists, and support personnel) from 18 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The training was conducted by the national classifier for athletes with PI, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences – Natalya Alekseevna Sladkova.
During the Seminar, participants discussed issues related to the organization and history of the development of sport-functional classification in the Paralympic Movement, the International Paralympic Committee Classification Code, athlete testing and the determination of sport classes in boccia for athletes with PI in accordance with the rules of the World Boccia International Federation, and much more.
The Seminar was an important step in raising awareness among athletes, coaches, and specialists and contributed to the development of sport-functional classification in boccia for individuals with PI.
