The Paralympics will be held in Japan from August 24 to September 5.

"As for the Send-Off ceremony of athletes to the Games, we plan on August 15, but we take into account the situation with COVID. Either Poklonnaya Gora or the format of a teleconference is being considered," - Rozhkov said during a meeting of the board of the Russian Ministry of Sports, which is taking place on Friday in Moscow.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on December 17 published a decision on the dispute between the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), according to which Russian athletes cannot participate in major international competitions, including the Olympics and Paralympics, under the flag of Russia until December 16, 2022.
