R-SPORT: THE RUSSIAN PARALYMPIC COMMITTEE WILL ORGANIZE UP TO 30 COMPETITIONS
MOSCOW, August 12 - RIA News, Andrey Simonenko. President of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) Pavel Rozhkov said that up to 30 competitions for Russian athletes will be organized on the territory of the country.
Russian Paralympians have been suspended from international competitions because of the situation in Ukraine.
"Unfortunately, our Paralympians, as well as many other representatives of domestic sport, are also suspended from international competitions. I agree with my colleagues, it is necessary to create conditions both for training and special attention to the conditions for competitions on the territory of the Russian Federation. This task becomes a priority. The RPC will hold up to 30 competitions on the territory of Russia. One of the biggest will be the Games "We are together" in Sochi in October. It is expected that there will be more than 1,500 participants from the subjects of the Russian Federation and more than 150 foreign participants," Rozhkov told reporters.
On Friday, Rozhkov was awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky at an event in Luzhniki.
