PRESIDENT OF THE NPC ARMENIA HAKOB ABRAHAMYAN: "WE ALWAYS COME WITH PLEASURE TO THE COMPETITIONS IN RUSSIA".
In Sochi from October 2 to 9 passed International complex sport competitions "Summer Games for Para Athletes "We are together. Sport".
The national team of the Republic of Armenia was represented by 9 athletes, who participated in para athletics, swimming, table tennis and taekwondo. The team won 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.
NPC President Hakob Abrahamyan, in an interview with the RPC press service, spoke about the participation of the national team in the Games:
"Armenian athletes without hesitation decided to support the initiative of the Russian Paralympic Committee, which proposed to organize international games for athletes with physical disabilities in Sochi. This is certainly a very necessary and worthwhile project, which helps establish and strengthen contacts between sports organizations in many countries of the world.
We always like to come to competitions in Russia, because we receive a very warm welcome. The organization of the competitions in general is distinguished by a high international level, which contributes to the fact that the athletes show good results.
The Armenian team performed at its own level, and in the team standings we took the fourth place. That's a great achievement for us. I think that if these Games become traditional, Armenia will become one of the permanent participants.
