PAVEL ROZHKOV IN TEHRAN HELD A MEETING WITH THE LEADERS OF THE NATIONAL PARALYMPIC COMMITTEE OF IRAN WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF HIS WORKING VISIT
On 9 May Russia Paralympic Committee President Pavel Rozhkov held the meeting with the leaders of Iran National Paralympic Committee within the framework of his working visit to Tehran.
The meeting took place in the National Paralympic Committee. There the questions connected with cooperation on development of National Paralympic movement, carrying out of joint trainings, realization of educational programs, the organization of participation of Iranian sportsmen in the Open All-Russian sports competitions within the framework of the Russian Championships and Summer Paralympic Games "We are together. Sport", which will be held from October 2 to 9, 2022 in Sochi, were discussed.
Special attention was paid to joint work on the development of such sports as athletics, swimming, volleyball sitting, powerlifting, shooting, etc.
The National Paralympic Committees of Russia and Iran have a long history of cooperation in the development of Paralympic sports. Several times joint training sessions in sitting volleyball were held. Also by the invitation of Iran NPC Russian athletes took part in international competitions on mini-football, which were held from 16 to 20 May 2021 on Kish Island (Iran), and also in powerlifting competitions devoted to the memory of the legendary athlete, 2-time Paralympic champion Simondu Rahman - from 28 February to 4 March 2022.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammad Tabe, Director General of Iranian NPC, Dr. Saeed Solgi, Head of Technical Department of Iranian NPC, Dr. Maryam Shokouhi, Head of International Relations of Iranian NPC and Dr. Jalil Kuhpayekhzadeh, President of Iranian NPC Sports Academy.
