PAVEL ROZHKOV HELD A MEETING OF THE RPC GOVERNING BOARD VIA VIDEOCONFERENCE

On 18 January the Chairman of the Governing Board, First Vice-President of the RPC Pavel Rozhkov held a meeting of the Governing Board of the Russian Paralympic Committee via videoconference.

Pavel Rozhkov, Chief of the Mission of the RPCR team at XIII Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing (People's Republic of China) reported about preparation of sports national teams of the Russian Federation for participation in XIII Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing (People's Republic of China) in 2022.

"There are 45 days before the opening of the XIII Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing.

Lillehammer (Norway) is currently hosting the IPC Winter Sports World Championships. According to the results of five days of the Championship the Russian team collected 10 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze medals. Especially I would like to note the results of the athletes in nordic skiing and biathlon for PI and VI athletes and alpine skiing for PI athletes.

The preliminary registration of the Russian delegation for participation in Paralympic Games in Beijing took place on January, 14 via videoconference mode. According to the results of the registration, the delegation calculation formula, the places of accommodation, the allocation of premises in the villages for the headquarters and the medical center, and other organizational issues have been agreed with the Organizing Committee.

At the present time Russian athletes have won 69 quotas.

After the preliminary registration the Organizing Committee of the Games will prepare and send the accreditation cards for the members of the delegation to the RPC.

Taking into consideration the fact that the final list of Russian team members must be approved at the meeting of the RPC Executive Committee by February 18th, the RPC Expert Committee began its work on forming the list of members of the Russian national team for the Games in Beijing. On January 18 the line-up of the Wheelchair Curling team was considered.

A meeting of the expert-advisory committee to form the team of track and field hockey will be held on January 19, snowboarding - January 25, skiing - January 26, nordic skiing and biathlon - February 3. February 2 and 3 will be held working groups on the preparation of Russian national teams for the XIII Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing (China).

The schedule of flights to Beijing for the Games and back was formed. The schedule is coordinated with the federations and head coaches. Aeroflot has confirmed to us the organization of flight of teams by cargo-passenger flights Moscow - Beijing - Moscow.

The main cities of departure and transfer points for the teams will be Moscow and Vladivostok.

On February 22 there will be a departure of the first administrative team.

February 24 - departure of teams in snowboard, alpine skiing VI, nordic skiing and biathlon, as well as the main headquarters group.

February 25 - departure of teams in alpine skiing PI and sledge hockey.

February 28 - departure of teams in Nordic skiing and biathlon for PI athletes, wheelchair curling.

March 14 - return of the main part of the delegation from Beijing.

According to the requirements of the Organizing Committee of Beijing-2022 the members of the RPC Paralympic delegation who have previously suffered from COVID 19 in order to obtain permission from the Organizing Committee of Beijing-2022 to enter China to participate in the XIII Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing (PRC) by January 31, 2022 must

- Provide medical documents in English confirming COVID-19 disease.

- Complete the Beijing 2022 Organizing Committee form for those who have previously had COVID-19 (Form is enclosed with a sample for completion).

- Individuals who have had COVID 19 less than 30 days prior to departure to Beijing must submit two negative PCR tests after recovery in addition to the required tests taken 96 hours and 72 hours prior to departure to China."

During the discussion of the first item on the agenda were approved schedule of the formation and approval of the Russian Federation Paralympic Delegation to participate in the XIII Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing (China) in 2022, flight schedule of members of the Russian Federation Paralympic Delegation to participate in the XIII Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing (China) in 2022 and outfit schedule for the Russian Federation Paralympic Delegation to participate in the XIII Paralympic Winter Games in 2022 in Beijing (China).

Also the members of the Executive Committee approved the list of candidates for the Russian Paralympic Team of athletes, included in the lists of candidates for the sports teams of the Russian Federation, for I-IV quarter of 2021, and reviewed issues concerning the activities of the Russian Paralympic Committee.
