More than 80 people took part in the Sledge Hockey Festival in Arkhangelsk.
On April 14, a sledge hockey festival was held in Arkhangelsk on the basis of the ice module of the Arkhangelsk stadium "Trud".
More than 80 people at the age from 9 years and older with physical impairments took part in the festival.
The event was held for the first time on the territory of the Arkhangelsk region. The festival was held within the framework of the program “We are different - hockey is one”. The event was organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Arkhangelsk Region represented by the State Autonomous Institution of Sports and Adaptive School State Autonomous Agency, the State Autonomous Institution of State Autonomous Agency Vodnik and the Regional Branch of the Russian Paralympic Committee in the Arkhangelsk Region together with the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation.
“As part of the festival, we not only popularize adaptive sports, but also give people with disabilities an opportunity to try their hand at such a technical sport as sledge hockey,” said Ekaterina Zhdanova, director of the regional sports and adaptive school.
“We want the Arkhangelsk region to also become one of the regions where this sport is actively developing. Thanks to the festival, hockey has become available to everyone!" - commented the Deputy Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Sergey Pivkov
