MORE THAN 100 ATHLETES WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE RUSSIAN PARA ARCHERY CHAMPIONSHIP FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN THE OREL REGION
From January 13th to 23rd the All-Russian Federation of Sports for Persons with Physical Impairments will hold the Russian Para Archery Championship in the track and field manege of the Oryol Region.
More than 100 athletes from 17 regions of the country will compete for awards.
Medals of competitions on a distance of 70 meters will be played out from January 13 to January 18. From January 18 to 23 winners of "winter" championship on a distance of 18 meters will be defined.
Viktor Sapunov, head coach of the Russian national para archery team, told about the upcoming championship in Orel and plans for the sports season:
"The early holding of the "summer" national championship in archery at 70 meters is primarily due to the preparation for the world championship, which will take place already from February 19 to 27 in Dubai. Based on the results of the national championship, we will decide on the final roster of the national team and we will correct the final stage of preparation. Approximately 20 archers will be part of our team for the World Championships. For the purpose of acclimatization and adaptation to the UAE climate, the final training events will be held in Turkey".
