Match TV: Rozhkov expressed gratitude to foreign Paralympic committees that voted for the reinstatement of the RPC
The President of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC), Pavel Rozhkov, expressed gratitude to the foreign Paralympic committees that voted for the full reinstatement of the RPC's rights.
On May 22, the State Kremlin Palace is hosting the award ceremony for the Russian Paralympic Committee's "Return to Life" prize, dedicated to the RPC's 30th anniversary.
— "The RPC had been under sanctions since 2016, and the Executive Committee of the International Paralympic Committee, starting in 2022, brought up the issue of the RPC's complete expulsion from the international movement at every General Assembly. At the last General Assembly in Seoul, many committees supported us to prevent our suspension. That was 111 countries against 55. And when the issue of full reinstatement was decided — 91 countries against 77 voted for reinstatement. Thank you to all the committees that support us and will continue to support us," Match TV correspondent reports Rozhkov's words.
On September 27, 2025, the RPC announced that the General Assembly of the International Paralympic Committee had decided to fully reinstate the organization's membership. Partial suspension had been in effect since 2023. At the 2026 Paralympic Games in Italy, Russian athletes competed with the national flag and anthem for the first time since 2014.
