In Lillehammer (Norway) ended Para Snow Sports World Championships.
The Russian athletes from the RPC team won 67 medals - 22 gold, 23 silver and 22 bronze.
The number of medals won by Russian biathlon and nordic skiing team for PI athletes added the biggest number to the Russian national team's collection. In nordic skiing athletes won 7 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze medals, and in biathlon athletes won 5 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze awards.
Results of performance of her athletes in the interview to the press-service of RPC summed up the senior coach of the Russian Para Nordic Skiing and Biathlon Team, the Honored coach of Russia Irina Gromova:
"I assess the performance of my athletes at the World Championships in Norway as good. Eight of our athletes rose to the podium, and three of them won gold medals. I would like to note the performance of Vladislav Lekomtsev, who won seven gold medals and became the absolute world champion, and Ivan Golubkov, who won six gold medals.
Almost all strongest athletes of the world except Canadians, Kazakhs and Chinese took part in the competitions. The main competition was from Ukraine, the United States, Norway and France.
Now the athletes have already forgotten their victories and continue to prepare for their main start - the XIII Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing in 2022. Preparation is going on according to the pre-planned plan. Its next stage will be the World Cup in Östersund, Sweden. From February 2 till February 8 the team will be training in Peresvet Park-Hotel near Moscow. The final training activities will take place in Italy from February 8 to 28.
The World Cup in Sweden will be held from January 27 to February 1. On January 27 and 28 the medals in nordic skiing and sprint will be played. On January 30, 31 and February 1 starts will be in biathlon.
