IN ST. PETERSBURG, THE WINNERS OF THE RUSSIAN CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE TRACK OF THE SPORT OF PERSONS WITH PODA WERE DETERMINED

In St. Petersburg, at the Locosphinx Cycling Center, the Russian Track Cycling Championship among athletes with musculoskeletal injuries has ended.

 

WINNERS AND PRIZE-WINNERS OF COMPETITIONS AMONG WOMEN

In the C1-C5 class, the representative of the Moscow Region, Alina Punina, showed the best result in the 500-meter git from the spot. The second and third places were taken by the Muscovite Elena Galkina and the representative of the Novgorod region and St. Petersburg Anna Tikhonova, respectively.

In the pursuit race in the C1-C4 class, Elena Galkina rose to the top step of the podium, and Anna Tikhonova took second place. In the C-5 class, Alina Punina became the champion of Russia.

In the scratch class C1-C5, Elena Galkina won, and Alina Panina took second place. The bronze medalist was Irina Grazhdanova from Moscow.

The team sprint was won by team Moscow (Elena Galkina, Sergey Ustinov, Sergey Gorbunov).

In second place is the national team of St. Petersburg (Yuri Minkevich, Nikolai Potapov, Anna Tikhonova)

Outside of the competition, the results in the Omnium discipline were summed up. It includes results based on the results of 4 races – the pursuit, team sprint, scratch and 200 meters on the move.

The winners in this category were Elena Galkina (C4), Alina Punina (C5), Mikhail Astashov( C1), Arslan Gilmutdinov (C2), Alexey Obydennov (C3), Sergey Pudov (C4) and Sergey Gorbunov (C5).

Cycling was first included in the program of the VII Paralympic Summer Games in 1984 in New York and Stoke Mandeville. Athletes with cerebral palsy, amputations and other injuries of the musculoskeletal system, as well as with visual impairment take part in the competition. The races are held on bicycles, tricycles, tandems and handbikes. At the XVI Paralympic Summer Games in Tokyo (Japan), 51 sets of medals will be awarded in cycling, athletes with an ODA defeat will compete for 43 sets, and athletes with a visual impairment - 8.
