GUZEL IDRISOVA ELECTED AS DEPUTY CHAIRMAN OF THE PUBLIC COUNCIL AT THE FEDERAL MEDICAL AND BIOLOGICAL AGENCY (FMBA RUSSIA)

On March 23, the first meeting of the Public Council at the Federal Medical and Biological Agency took place in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. The meeting was opened by Vladislav Grib, Deputy Secretary of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.

The Public Council under the FMBA of Russia was created in accordance with Order No. 2 of the head of the Agency, Veronika Skvortsova, dated January 15, 2021. The same Order approved the composition of the Public Council.

During the meeting, Ilya Yuryevich Shilkrot, Ph.D., surgeon, ex-assistant to the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, was unanimously elected Chairman of the Public Council at the FMBA of Russia.

Also, three of his deputies were unanimously elected: co-chairman of the All-Russian Union of Public Associations of Patients Yan Vlasov, Deputy Head of the RPC Commission on Medicine, Anti-Doping and Classification of Athletes, Head of the Department of Anti-Doping, Medical and Scientific Methodological Support of the RPC Staff, member of the Medical Committee of the International Paralympic Committee, Ph. M.Sc. Guzel Idrisova, chairman of the All-Russian public movement "Medical volunteers" Pavel Savchuk.

Addressing the members of the Public Council, the head of the FMBA of Russia, Veronika Skvortsova, spoke about the history and main competencies of the Agency, as well as the tasks it faces today.

“We pin great hopes on interaction with our Public Council. It is very gratifying that among the members of the Public Council there are also representatives of private medical organizations. We hope that we will be able to create the concept of public-private partnership, the implementation of which will contribute to the solution of many issues, including the renewal of infrastructure” - said Veronika Skvortsova

Nikolay Daikhes, First Deputy Chairman of the Commission for the Protection of Citizens' Health and Health Development of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Director of the NMITSO FMBA of Russia, drew attention to the fact that today it is not easy to cope with new challenges without the public sphere, open discussion and expert assessment.

“When the formation of Public Councils was just beginning, thanks to Veronika Igorevna, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation became one of the most open departments. It was with her that many public institutions were introduced into the work of the Russian Ministry of Health,” - Nikolai Daihes noted.
