G. Z. IDRISOVA HELD AN ONLINE MEETING WITH MEDICAL PERSONNEL PLANNING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE XVI PARALYMPIC SUMMER GAMES 2020 IN TOKYO (JAPAN), WHICH WILL BE HELD FROM AUGUST 24 TO SEPTEMBER 5, 2021
Deputy Head of the RPC Commission on Medicine, Anti-Doping and Classification of Athletes, Head of the Department of Anti-doping, Medical and scientific-methodological support of the RPC Apparatus, member of the Medical Committee of the International Paralympic Committee, Head of the medical service (Chief Medical Officer) of the Russian national team at the XVI Paralympic Summer Games in Tokyo (Japan), PhD. Guzel Idrisova held an online meeting via videoconference with medical personnel planning to participate in the XVI Paralympic Summer Games 2020 in Tokyo (Japan), which will be held from August 24 to September 5, 2021.
Guzel Idrisova provided information to the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) on measures to counter the spread of the new COVID-19 coronavirus infection during participation in the Tokyo Paralympic Games, including testing for coronavirus, vaccination against COVID-19, diagnosis and protocol for the management of persons with COVID-19 at the Games.
The meeting also discussed organizational issues of anti-doping and medical support for the Russian Paralympic team at the XVI Paralympic Summer Games in Tokyo (Japan) and during the preparation of Paralympic athletes for the Games, the structure of the medical team of the Russian delegation and the functions of medical personnel at the Paralympic Games, issues of obtaining permits for the therapeutic use of substances and methods prohibited in sports, and much more.
The meeting was attended by more than 80 people, including the Chairman of the Executive Committee, the First Vice-President of the Russian Paralympic Committee, the chief of mission of the Russian national team at the XVI Paralympic Summer Games in Sochi. Tokyo (Japan) Pavel Rozhkov, General Secretary of the RCC, President of the All-Russian Federation of Sports of Persons with PODA, 5-time Paralympic Games champion Andrey Strokin, sports medicine doctors, massage therapists, psychologists and senior coaches of Russian national sports teams in summer Paralympic sports, as well as representatives of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of the Russian Federation of Sports of Persons with PODA, the Russian Federation of Sports of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, the Russian Federation of Sports of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities and the Russian Taekwondo Union.
