First Stage of the Russian Para Badminton Cup ended in Kazan

From 12 to 17 April 2021, the First stage of the Russian Para Badminton Cup was held in the Badminton Center in Kazan.

The competition was attended by 75 athletes from 18 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

Athletes competed for 17 sets of medals. Including in 13 disciplines included in the program of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

The competitions were held in strict accordance with the requirements of the regulations for the organization and conduct of official physical culture and sports events in the territory of the Russian Federation in the conditions of persisting risks of the spread of COVID-19, approved by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and the chief sanitary doctor of the Russian Federation.

Within the framework of the stage, a master class "Basic technical and tactical knowledge, skills and abilities of an athlete in the WH-sport class" was held, as well as a meeting of the head coach and personal trainers of athletes of the main composition of the Russian sports team to plan work in the 2021 season.

“I congratulate all the winners and prize-winners of the 1st stage of the Russian Cup and their personal trainers. I express my deep gratitude to the Badminton Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan for providing the opportunity and holding our competitions at a traditionally high level.

The first stage of the Russian Cup was the main test start before the international tournament in Spain, which will take place in May, and will complete the qualification for the Paralympic Games in Tokyo. Also in the near future it is planned to hold a training event at the Oka Republican training base in Aleksin, Tula region, and in early June - the Russian championship and championship in Saratov at the Badminton Center."
