ABOUT 80 ATHLETES WILL TAKE PART IN THE RUSSIAN WHEELCHAIR FENCING CHAMPIONSHIP IN UFA
In Ufa (Republic of Bashkortostan) at the Sports Training Center named after Rima Batalova, the Russian wheelchair fencing championship will take place from 19 to 25 April.
78 athletes from 13 constituent entities of Russia will take part in the competition: Vologda, Kaliningrad, Kursk, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Omsk and Rostov regions, the Republics of North Ossetia-Alania and Bashkortostan, Krasnodar Territory, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, as well as St. Petersburg and Moscow.
The leading Russian athletes will take part in the championship: Maxim Shaburov (Novosibirsk region), Alexander Kuzyukov (Omsk region), Artur Yusupov (Krasnodar region), Roman Fedyaev (St. Petersburg), Alexander Kurzin (Vologda region), Albert Kamalov (Republic of Bashkortostan), Nikita Nagaev (Republic of Bashkortostan), among women Lyudmila Vasilyeva (Moscow), Victoria Boykova (Moscow), Irina Mishurova (Moscow), Yulia Maya (Kaliningrad region), Albina Davlyatova (Republic of Bashkortostan).
The opening ceremony will take place on April 20, 2021 at 14:00. It is planned to involve the Minister of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ruslan Khabibov, 13-time Paralympic champion Rima Batalova, 4-time Paralympic champion Irek Zaripov and others.
COMPETITION PROGRAM
Individual competitions will take place from 20 to 22 April.
On the first day, the winners will be determined in epee in categories A and B, as well as in foil in category C.
On April 21, competitions will be held in foils A and B and swords - in category C.
On April 22, on the final day of individual competitions, medals will be awarded in saber in categories A and B.
Team competitions will take place from 22 to 24 April. Medals will be awarded in saber, epee and foil, respectively.
