1 GOLD, 1 SILVER AND 2 BRONZE MEDALS WERE WON BY THE RUSSIAN NATIONAL TEAM AT THE INTERNATIONAL ALPINE SKIING COMPETITIONS IPC IN SWITZERLAND

The international alpine skiing competitions of the International Paralympic Committee were held in Weissona (Switzerland) from January 26 to 28.

Athletes competed for two sets of medals in the "downhill".

The representative of the city of Moscow and the Irkutsk region Varvara Voronchikhina among athletes in the category" standing " won " gold "and"silver".

In the winning attempt, Varvara overcame the track in 1 minute 18.87 seconds. In second place, the Frenchwoman Aurelia Richard ( 1:24.45). The bronze medal was won by the representative of Japan Noriko Kamiyama (1:25.53).

In the next race, Varvara finished with a result of 1:19.39. The winner was the representative of Sweden Ebba Aarsjoe ( 1:18.74). The bronze medal was won by the representative of Japan Ammi Hondo ( 1:23.92).

The representative of Moscow and the Sakhalin region Alexey Bugaev finished third twice – 1:17.15 and 1: 16.83.

The first and second places were taken by representatives of Switzerland. In the first race Robin Cuche took the lead - 1:16.49, the second place was taken by Theo Gmur-1:16.72. In the second race, the best result was shown by Theo Gmur-1:15.22, and Robin Kuche's second time-1:15.57.

Competitions in the "Supergiant" were canceled due to weather conditions.

At the moment, the Russian national team in alpine skiing of persons with PODA is at the second stage of the World Cup in Saalbach-Hinterglem (Austria).

The Russian national team in alpine skiing of persons with PODA at the XII Paralympic Winter Games 2018 in Pyeongchang (Republic of Korea) won 1 gold and 1 silver medal. The author of all the awards was the representative of Moscow and the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexey Bugaev.
